Head of Core Banking Engineering

We are building a new team for a new digital bank from scratch! The new engineering team will build, implement, and continuously improve a modern core banking platform.
You will own the roadmap, budget and hiring for the core banking platform: the ledger plus accounts, payment rails, product engine, reconciliation, reporting, cards, pricing and lending. You will build the unit from zero and set the engineering culture, the standards and the pace for a bank designed to scale.
Every day, you’ll be #closer and:
Own the core platform roadmap and budget, and align priorities with Digital Channels, Customer Master Data and the shared teams.
Lead hiring and growth of the unit: architects, engineering managers, product managers and engineers across backend, quality and reliability.
Build and lead engineering managers who own delivery and on-call health for their teams.
Partner with the Head of Product so that product managers own outcomes while engineering owns the platform.
Make DORA resilience requirements part of delivery: operational readiness, testing and incident response from day one.
Be the voice of the platform with senior stakeholders, shaping channel demand into a coherent, sustainable roadmap.
Influence technology choices, including the tech stack.
To be #closer, you’ll need:
Led engineering for a core banking, ledger or payments platform in production, across multiple teams.
A track record of building teams quickly, including hiring and growing managers.
Experience owning a technology budget and roadmap in a regulated financial institution.
Enough technical depth to engage on architecture decisions at a detailed level.
Strong stakeholder skills and the ability to build alignment at senior level.
Strong plus: experience leading a major core or platform programme, working with DORA or similar resilience regulation, and cards or lending platforms.

Competitive compensation. Your salary will depend on your experience and competencies, so we’re providing an indicative range of EUR 9,000.00 – 11,000.00 gross per month.
